Choosing the right technology
We have revolutionised industrial pumping technologies and overcome fluid handling problems that cause other pump types to fail.
Our scalable pumps and flexible kink proof hoses are helping thousands of engineers improve the reliability, safety and efficiency of their process. This equates to costs savings that are critical to sustaining competitive products and services.
Reliable, low maintenance industrial fluid management
With no rotors to wear, or seals and glands to flush, peristaltic hose pumps handle abrasive fluids without the maintenance costs of other pumps.
Safe, accurate chemical dosing
Our technology helps to reduce chemical waste with a consistent, controllable flow.
Long-life PTFE hose technology for fluid flow applications
Unique steel braid and rubber coated hose technology delivers chemical resistant, low friction fluid handling through convolution free PTFE liners.
APEX hose pumps
The newly expanded range of APEX hose pumps is ideal for aggressive and abrasive applications up to 8 bar (116 psi). With their seal-less, valve-less design, APEX pumps are engineered for a more competitive price/performance ratio vs high pressure hose pumps. Designed to suit all dosing, metering and transfer applications with unmatched flow stability from 2.8 to 6,200 L/h.
Features and benefits
- Seal-less, valve-less design
- Precision machined hose elements for accurate, repeatable performance
- Optimised hose compression for unmatched flow stability
- Direct-coupled drive and maximum flexibility - no separate couplings to align or maintain
- Ultra compact design with flexibility to mount standard gear motors - rotor supported by own bearings to maximise gearbox life
- Lower maintenance costs - single component change means fewer spare parts inventory

Intelligent chemical metering and transfer technologies
Peristaltic pumps that accurately pump abrasive chemicals such as lime slurry, powdered activated carbon (PAC), sodium hypochlorite (hypo), alum and other chemicals.
Chemical metering and transfer requirements
Watson-Marlow's tube pumps and hose pumps handle a broad range of chemical metering and transfers that destroy progressive cavity, lobe and diaphragm pumps.
Abrasive chemicals such as lime slurry, powdered activated carbon (PAC), sodium hypochlorite (hypo), alum and other chemicals wear metallic parts and rip through rotors, stators and seals of other pump types causing a maintenance nightmare.
Our positive displacement pumps provide consistent and reliable performance. The features include:
- High pressure capability for chemical injection
- Metering accuracies to +/- 0.5% saving on expensive chemical usage
- No ancillary equipment required
- Only one wearing part – the tube/hose
- Self-priming, dry running, no vapor locking
- Lower total cost of ownership
With peristaltic pumps the slurry is securely contained within the hose, only contacting the hose making maintenance simple.
Qdos pumps - accurate, versatile chemical pumps for process optimisation
The Qdos® range of peristaltic chemical metering and dosing pumps cut costs through higher precision metering, with an accuracy of ±1% and repeatability of ±0.5% in dosing.
Qdos metering and dosing pumps minimise chemical consumption for applications in water and wastewater treatment.

Proven reliability in tough mining environments
To meet these tough demands, our wide range of long-life peristaltic pumps and hoses are designed to make mining and quarrying processes more efficient, profitable, and sustainable. From metallic oxide to sulphide and carbon-based ore extraction, our pumps are specifically engineered for tough mining operations in harsh environments.
Unlike other types of pumps, our peristaltic pumps deliver exceptional results in handling viscous fluids and overcoming the challenges of abrasive, high-solid paste, and aggressive chemicals.
Less water consumption
Clog-free, robust and reliable Bredel hose pumps can handle undiluted tailings and thickener underflow with up to 80% solids. As Bredel hose pumps do not have seals, they eliminate the need for water flushing, so reduce the treatment of process wastewater and the need for pump service water.
Solutions to minimise impact on the environment
Reducing water usage also results in lower chemical usage and less energy required for treating process wastewater.
Qdos chemical metering and dosing pumps provide accurate, repeatable and contained reagent dosing, pH control and slurry transfer between flotation stages and milling stages.

PTFE hoses developed for automotive engineering
Our expertise in hose engineering helps you meet the need for increased levels of durability and flexibility in automotive design. Our PTFE-lined hoses are chemically resistant and capable of handling high-temperature fluids, helping automotive professionals overcome their engineering challenges.
Unlike rubber, Aflex stainless steel braided PTFE-hoses exhibit minimal volumetric expansion under pressure. When the brakes are applied, the callipers move immediately, without delay needed to expand a rubber hose. Highly flexible and kink resistant, with a low force to bend, our hose technologies enable engineers to try new layouts and hose configurations.
Helping engineers to innovate
Innovation has been at the forefront of automotive success over the past four decades. Whether you are seeking weight reduction, increased flexibility or kink resistance, Aflex have developed patented liners and unique processing techniques to meet your application requirements.
